Utah Water Wells ("we," "our," "us") operates utahwaterwells.com to help Utah property owners get free water-well drilling and service estimates and to connect them with verified, licensed Utah well drillers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how it is protected.
What we collect
We collect only the information you voluntarily provide when you submit a form on our website, plus standard server logs. Specifically:
- Contact information: name, phone number, email address, and property address.
- Service request details: depth or pump information you supply, issue category, and any free-text description you include.
- Standard analytics: anonymized page views, referring source, browser/device type, approximate location at the city level (collected by Google Analytics 4).
We do not collect: payment information (we never bill you), social-security numbers, government IDs, or any sensitive personal data.
How we use your information
We use the information you submit for one purpose: to deliver the estimate you asked for and to route your inquiry to a verified, licensed Utah well-drilling partner who can fulfill the request.
Specifically:
- To compute your estimate, we send your property address to public Utah Division of Water Rights services to find nearby driller-submitted well logs.
- To deliver your lead, we send your name, phone, address, and request details to the licensed driller assigned to your county. For emergency requests, we also send an SMS notification to the on-call partner technician.
- To improve the service, we keep an internal record of your submission so we can audit response times and identify partner gaps.
Third parties
Your information is shared only with the licensed Utah well-drilling partner assigned to your county for the purpose of fulfilling your request. We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to advertisers, marketers, or any unrelated third parties for marketing purposes.
We use the following service providers to operate the site, each of which is bound by their own privacy commitments:
- Cloudflare Pages — site hosting and storage
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymized usage analytics
- Resend — outbound email delivery to partner drillers
- Twilio — outbound SMS delivery to partner drillers (emergency requests only)
- U.S. Census Geocoding API — converting your address to coordinates
- Utah Division of Water Rights — public well-log data
SMS and email communications
If you submit your phone number on our service-request form, we will not send you marketing texts. The phone number is used by our partner driller to call you back about your specific request. By submitting a service request you consent to receiving a return phone call related to that request.
Our outbound SMS program (operated via Twilio) sends messages only to our contracted partner drillers, never to website visitors. See our Terms of Service for the messaging program details.
Data retention
We retain submitted requests indefinitely for service-quality, fraud-prevention, and partner-accountability purposes. Anonymized analytics are retained per Google Analytics 4 default settings (currently 14 months).
You may request deletion of your information at any time by emailing us at the contact address below.
Children
Our site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Your rights
You may request a copy of the information we have about you, request that we correct or delete it, or opt out of any continued contact, by emailing the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
